Film in Hartford
Here in Hartford, Latino cinema is alive and very accessible. Every autumn and spring Trinity College offers a series of films in Spanish, which come from all parts of Latin America and Spain (non Spanish speakers are also able to enjoy these films which include english subtitles). Films are showcased Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the LSC auditorium at Trinity College. The films are open to the entire community. A member of the Hispanic Studies department gives an thought provoking talk before each film, and after there is a discussion period held to discuss its content and reactions. To obtain more information about this fantastic film series please visit the Trinity College Hispanic Studies website: (http://www.trincoll.edu/Academics/MajorsAndMinors/Hispanic/Pages/default.aspx)
Latino and non-Latino films are also shown at Trinity’s Cinestudio. Cinestudio is an old and beautiful theater that offers mainstream and as well as less public films to the community. Schedules and ticket prices to this wonderful theater can be found on the website: www.cinestudio.org
